This attraction is a massive natural and serene retreat from the concrete jungle and blowing horns of the cityscape.

It’s sprawled out over 127 acres of lush green and is sanctum to giant, shady trees from around the world, peacocks, wild geese, turtles, fish and verdant gardens. Visitors can take scenic walks along the Baldwin Lake and Turtle Pond, saunter through prehistoric and bamboo forests, tropical greenhouses, the Arboretum library and citrus groves and view the historic Queen Anne Cottage, famed willow sculpture by environmental artist Patrick Dougherty and the Meyberg man-made waterfall.

It’s perfect for family and romantic picnics, as it is widespread with hilly lawns amidst the fountains, trees and wildlife.

This peaceful and scenic LA attraction, away from the city grind, also hosts revolving plant exhibits and shows, and the California Philharmonic Concert on the Green, held on warm summer nights.

The Arboretum is definitely worth a visit, and don’t expect to do it all in fast time before hopping off to the next attraction. Trying to see all that it has to offer and at the leisurely pace it sets requires a full day.
